Federal pilot project ‘Senior Housing Conversion’ – KfW programme research

In the future there will be more elderly people. Housing that is still able to be used well, even when one’s strength is fading, is becoming more and more important. In many cases, when the housing was built, too little consideration was given as to its suitability in old age - adaptation is required. The KfW Bankengruppe has launched its own promotional programme for senior housing conversion. Good practical solutions will be tried out as part of the pilot project. We are accompanying and advising the undertaking, scientifically evaluating it, providing experience exchange, publishing the results and looking into the impact of the promotional programme itself. The process involves structural solutions, urban development aspects, social and financial questions as well as even greater awareness and more varied consultation on the topic and recommendations for development funding.
