Second report on building culture in Germany

Baukultur ("Building Culture") is a contemporary issue of today. Baukultur influences our every day life in towns and communities and puts a defining stamp on the "face" of a nation. Furthermore it is a factor of sustainability. Risks and chances for important changes in all areas of life prove our building culture.

This report delivers insight into the situation of Baukultur in Germany. In which ways does it occur? What are its roots? How is it produced and in what ways are planning and building issues discussed? In an interdisciplinary way, the report details the multifaceted commitments that form Baukultur. It shows examples that could be criticized, as well as tasks and starting points for producing improved quality in the field of planning and building. The report also asks for public as well as political discussion and continued debate - in itself an importand aspect of Baukultur.
